You may be married or unmarried. But you can be in a romantic relationship with your partner. Are you sure that your relationship with your partner is healthy and true?
You can do something to find out about your relationship:
Health of your romantic relationship contributes a lot towards your physical and mental health. A happy, healthy romantic relationship makes you more vigorous and productive. It can keep you positive and physically healthy. You can enjoy a longer life with your partner.
You have to honest in asking a few questions to yourself to find out whether your relationship is happy and healthy:
- Do you trust each other and respect each other?
- Are you supporting your partner in his/her hobbies or in matter of his/her interest?
- Do you have secrets from each other?
- Are you yourself when you are with your partner?
- Do you maintain your individual identity?
- Do you discuss about your dreams with each other?
- Are you in love with your partner and do you express your love openly to your partner?
- Do you consider your partner as your equal?
You may be having your own likings and disliking. But does it affect your relationship with your partner?
If your relationship is healthy with your partner, you must trust her/him no end, without asking any questions. Trust is the base of any relationship. Where there is no trust, there is no health in the relationship.
Are you open with your partner? Do you keep secrets from her/him? Do you have to hide things from her/him? Then sorry, you are not able to connect yourself fully with your partner. Think again. What makes you do this? Is it lack of trust and faith? And if you do not have faith on your partner, how your relationship can be healthy? Your partner has every right to know everything about yourself and if you are hiding anything from your partner, you do not trust her/him fully.
Some partners may be bit nagging in nature and may want to know about your every movement. These partners are doubting your honesty with him/her. There must be some reason for this, and you have to rectify this immediately without delay.
Trust brings respect. If you trust each other beyond any doubt, you respect each other also in your life. This is priceless. Respect has to be earned and cannot be commanded. Can your partner respect you and hate you simultaneously? If she/he respects you genuinely, this respect comes out of true love.
You must be a good listener when you are communicating with your partner. You must have empathy for each other. You must give space for each other’s personality and respect this individuality. You must keep on using these words at appropriate time. They are Thank You and Sorry. It indicates that you feel for each other and are not miser in showing your feelings.
A healthy and happy relationship has love and affection for each other, mutual respect, communicate openly without hiding anything, and believe in Give and Take Theory always. And remember, this is not only materialistic, it is emotional. Then you are in a healthy and happy relationship.
